Back in America!

I know alot of you are anxious to see some Dublin shots. It's taking longer than I expected to sort through & organize 350+ pictures and 100+ videos. Here's a video to get you started. I will be doing more later. This video was taken at the pub where we ate dinner the first night. Sorry, it's a little dark. Many of the places there are very dark.

First of all, THANK YOU STACY, ROD & KAREN FOR TAKING CARE OF THE HOUSE WHILE WE WERE GONE.

Ireland was great, but we both agree we LOVE LIVING IN AMERICA! I wish more Americans had the opportunity to see other countries. Maybe they'd be more appreciative and less critical of our government.

Ireland is truly a beautiful country. We did lots of walking......taking rest breaks for mommy & baby along the way.

Get this--we calculated the beer to be cheaper than sodas in many places! They love beer. I mean breakfast, lunch, & dinner! Looking around restaurants, it was hard to find someone not having beer with their meal. They also are not fond of ice. Room temp was how drinks were served mostly. I haven't actually gotten sick the entire pregnancy, but having room temperature milk for cereal one morning did it. I think that would make me sick under normal circumstances though.

On the homefront, I don't know when we'll fully recuperate from the trip. We got back early Tuesday night. (Thanks for picking us up Karen.) We immediately did 3 loads of laundry, well, M did mostly. I think I passed out for the night before the first load made it to the dryer. We both went back to work Wed. I worked over all three days trying to get caught up. M had the yard done by the time I got home Friday. This weekend was filled with mostly baby preparation. The crib bedding and 2 pieces of nursery furniture were completed while we were on "holiday", so we headed to Covington to pick them up. Courtesy of Grandmother, Mom, & Dad we have a beautifully refinished antique buffet we'll be using as the changing table and a comfy newly upholstered swivel rocker. THANK YOU Mom, Dad, & Grandmother. I know it would've likely been cheaper (uh, I mean better value, as the Irish would say) to just buy new furniture. The nursery is slowly coming together. It's like working a puzzle to find a new place for all the things that had made that room their home the past 5 1/2 years. The attic is getting full!

Until next time.....

This week we worked on the baby registries (Babies 'R Us & Target). We still have a few things to add.
UPDATE: "WE HAVE A BABY & ANOTHER ON THE WAY!"----TOMATO THAT IS! M came in the house so excited, yelling "we have a baby tomato & another one about to come!". So, I guess we haven't totally killed the 3 little plants we planted a few weeks back. He's so confident now, that he got a squash plant to add today when we were at Lowe's. We had gone to Lowe's to pick up some caladiums to put in Gran's planters for her birthday.

This morning (before the tomato discovery & Lowe's) we got up and went to Shelby Farms for the Arthritis Walk. The Campbell Clinic team raised the most money with just over $18,000! The walk is nearly 3 miles. I must admit I stopped to rest ONCE a little past the 2 mile mark. M encouraged me to do the 1 mile trail, but those of you that know me........c'mon.......I wasn't doing anything less than the full walk!

Here are a couple of pictures from this morning. We're very excited we got our camera back yesterday! We had shipped it back to Canon and were skeptical about things, but they had it fixed and back to us in about a week, at no charge! We had almost thrown in the towel to buy a new one.

Busy Day!

It's not just been a busy day, but a busy week. No pictures this entry. We're temporarily without the camera. We've sent the camera to Canon, for some recall issues it was having. Last night we graduated from child birth classes, so I guess it's official......they're gonna let us have the baby! We went every Thursday night for four weeks. I'm glad we didn't do the 7-week option. We were very tired by the time we would let out @ 9:00pm each time.

M put the crib together one night this week!

Got home from work tonight and mowed & edged the yard and trimmed some bushes & trees. My arms are all scratched from a fight I got into with a pine tree. After the yard, we washed both the car and the truck. Tomorrow we're having a yardsale, so we'll be getting up and going early.

M's going to try out our new video camera.......we'll see if we can attach a video.
